since i've owned my Raptor i've noticed the bottom of my airbox keeps filling with air filter oil ( about a 1/8 of an inch ) every time i changed my filter i would try to wring out as much oil as i could from the filter ( Pro Flo filter )to keep this from occuring.

The other night i changed the filter with a fresh one and decided to flip the quad on its rear tires so i could tighten some loose skid bolts. I shut the gas off and sat it on its rear grab bar. as usual some gas came pissing out..not much. 5 minutes or less and i had the quad back on all fours. When i went to put the airbox cover back on i noticed the bottom of the airbox had filter oil accumulating.

apparently, when the quad is upright gas will flow back through the air filter washing off the filter oil on the bottom of the filter ( where you can't see )the top will look fine but the bottom will be robbed of vital protection. the gas will then evaporate leaving the slightest puddle of oil behind. I'm not sure if this happen during wheelies...i would imagine staying on the gas would prevent it from flowing back...but i'm not positive..

Hope i helped

When ever you put the bike upright
turn the gas off and let it run
until it runs out of gas then tilt
the bike up and the gas won't come
out the carbs

Good post, Raptor660RNH. I have been seeing the same exact thing with my Raptor recently and had no clue how the hell filter oil would end up in the drain plug of the airbox. I've tipped it up a few times to change the oil and add some skid plates in the past month, and that's when I first saw the problem.
