500 Scrambler, one hell of a machine.

Don't know if any of you read my post a few weeks ago in buying an atv, but Santa pulled through and I ended up with a Scrambler 500. It's just as fast as most of my friends rides, if not faster. It is the only one with four wheel drive, which gets me around great, but I always seem to have a tow strap hooked to the back workin on bringing them with me.
But I did run into one problem, I buried it my first time out and gave it a hard time getting it out. I think I may have stretched the belt as I burried it. I took the cover off and the belt is in good shape, but I can hear a noticible taping sound, I assume it is the belt hiting the cover when not engaged. I want to know if there are stronger belts I can get for it because I have heard some bad things. I also would like to learn more about the clutch kits for these machines I can get, keeping in mind I do tow some with this machine. Finally I have been wondering if there are winch kits for this machine, cause when I get stuck there is no one around to pull me out. Thanks for your Time,
Mike Mohrfeld

Let's see where should I begin,
I think you could have a warped cover, mine did it when I first bought it, when idle you can hear it rub but when you give it gas it quits. If someone steped on the cover on put weight on it, that could have done it. Heavy duty belts, you can get a Dayco belt from www.denniskirk.com part# 02-420 price 37.99
and you can call AAEN Performance @ (414)552-8981 they have the clutch kit and Dayco belt. Anymore questions just ask and check out my pics from the link below

PS I forgot about the winch, you can get the warn 2000 and mount it to a front rack on the Sc500 or make your own mount that fits right above the rock guard. <IMG SRC="http://208.32.63.13/ubb/vader.gif">

I have nothing but good things to say about the Aaen roller clutch. In my opinion it stands out from the rest because it is a roller clutch. Little wheels replace the stock PVT buttons which wear over time and cause increased friction and dust build up.
I bought mine as a kit with new flyweights and stiffer springs. This is not necissary unless you add a pipe and carb.
The belt as stated above is a good investment. It is made of thicker cords that resist stretching and has both top and bottom cogs for better cooling.
