I wondered if anyone sells aftermarket shocks for a recon. If so are they good with hitting jumps. my stock ones bottom out all the time. how much do aftermarket shocks for the recon cost.

Works sells a set of AT steelers for the recon (dual rate springs, non adjustable, no cans, and custom setup for your weight). If I remeber right, they were around $550, and should help some. But, if you can at all afford it, I really sugest getting a sport quad like a 250x, 300ex, or blaster instead of trying to make your recon into something that it is not. You won't believe the difference with a lighter, better suspended quad.

P.S. I know that the recon is one of the best utility quads for agressive riding, and feels much like a sport quad, but recon bottoming jumps are barely felt on my 400ex.

thanx for the input man. I am only 15 so I am not able to afford a 400ex right now. I'll tell you one thing though I will have a 400ex when I get a little older. Those things are rippers.tuff as nails. I saw some videos of some ex's and these guys were beatin the **** outta them. Those rock. but until then I will mildly mod my recon. Oh and what do you mean by "modded to the max"???

I'm only 14, so I know what your talking about with the cash situation. I live in a VERY rural area, and I make money by mowing yards (usually around 1-2 acres or more), and snowblowing driveways in the winter

My dad has a friend who owns a motorcycle shop, and he did all the motor work for me. I can tell quite a difference, but I need bigger jets, which are on backorder, so I can't give you a good report yet.

I wouldn't recomend the renthals, because they are actually more of a sport quad bend, and with the recon's seat height, it just feels wrong.
