Hey Andy, you are right about selling an AC...

I've seen your posts a few times mentioning that it will be difficult to sell your AC. I've had mine in the paper for a week and on every web site I can find. With all the extras I have on it I can't sell it for 5 K. Thought for sure it would be easy. Dealer offered me 4900, which I thought was generous for a dealer. I'll try another week in the paper, then trade away instead. Good luck with yours. Still fixing on getting a new '02 Grizz? I gave up on it. The last thing I want is another auto-belt quad after all the cr*p I've been through with mine.

Yeah, I have to get a loan tomorrow, and I'll pick it up maybe Wed. if it comes in. If not, then it will be like another week, because I'm having to work a 12 hour night shift 4 days out of the week, and there is no way I could do it on a day that I work. I've tried to sell mine before, but never really hard. I have it up at work for $4850, which I can come down on. It might be a little high, but there is a lot on there, and I pro-rated all the extras at like 35% of what I paid for them. I may take the 27" tires off, and try to sell it for $4300. It would be a hit on me, but it might make it move quicker.
Here's what its got and what it cost me.
Tires- $400
Wheels- $220
Lift- $80
Bumpers- $70 apiece
AC rack ext.- $70
Oxlites- $45
That should account for something I would think. Its got 1900 miles on it, but its basically dentless, and the plastic looks close to new.

Well how you guys doing? I just sold my 1998 Cat with moose plow for $4,700.00 and could of got $4,900.00. Sold it the first day, with no dickering on price. I have a new 660 Griz coming in this week. Hope you guys will still talk to me. It was really hard making the switch. This new Grizz will have big shoes to fill. I have had the Cat for 3 years never once been in the shop. If only the new cats would have had locking front end this year I would have went back with the Cats. They are not dealing at all up here on the new Grizzlys. I got this dealer to give me $200.00 worth of excesseries with the machine, lucky to get that. He is also just 1 mile from my house. Ya'll take care!

Right now I'm trying to figure out if I can install a new cv boot on my AC or if I'll have to take it in to have it done. Either way, I have to get that fixed before I can sell it. I called the dealer on my Griz this morning, and it will be in tomorrow. The loan has been taken care of, and I will go get it in the morning. Green 660 Griz- $6468.95 out the door with winch. Its going to be a long *** day too. I'll leave about 7am, probably get home around 6pm, and then I have to go to work for 12hrs. starting at 10pm. I guess its worth it for the deal I got, but damn its going to be a long night tomorrow.

That's great Andy. Good luck with the Grizz. I know you and I both dislike drive belts from what I gather in your past posts, so I hope you tell us the truth about how responsive it is and if it holds up to high water and deep mud. Enjoy!

Irichard-

Well I left at 7:20am, and got home at 7pm. A long *** day. It didn't help that I had to wait 2 hours at the dealer for them to get the thing assembled either. They said they were busy, but I saw another one outside, and I know they got 2 in today. I think that the bonehead in the shop assembled the wrong one first (the VIN# has to be the same as the one thats on the loan papers). Either way, this is what I can say after only getting maybe 5 miles on it before I had to come in to work.
Stability- who knows. Only one small hill, and it felt like totally different than what I'm used to. I think its just going to take me some time to get used to the feel, but I don't think it is nearly as stable as the AC, and I don't think anything else beats the AC in that regard either.
Actual stock clearance- 11.5" in the rear (looks lower than a sportsman) 10.5 in the middle, and maybe almost 12 up front. I did that in a hurry with it on level concrete so I would get good measurements (rather than on dirt or gravel)
Skid plate is a paper plate compared to an AC. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I'm not worried about it though. I can always replace it later, and probably will, cause the front bash plate at the bottom is the same stuff.
Transmission- who knows. Auto's are wierd, and again I'm not used to it.
Turning- Best 4x4 I've driven. I can carve way inside the AC with this. 2wd capability is awesome. As far as steering ease, even on pavement it is unreal. Truly a yamaha as far as steering ease goes. Its probably at least 3 times better than the AC (even with 489's). I haven't got to ride it much of course, but it felt like you could cut through the woods pretty hard on this.
Display- totally cool. Fuel guage is neat.
Sounds- sounds ok, but there is some weird noise. I guess its just an automatic.
Brakes- suck right now. The cable isn't adjusted yet, and I will fix that tomorrow. I have a feeling that they will be good though. Weird again using two levers. I like single lever brakes better. Don't care what they say about some mythical lack of brake control. Thats BS.
Power- sure it has it, but I won't know till its broken in good. I do know that it gets up to 40 without barely any throttle, and thats all I would give it right now. I have a feeling that this things going to scream.
4x4- pretty cool to push that button and watch the little display pop up. It works. Haven't fooled with it much yet
Diff-lock- I looked real quick for a spot to use it and found a little short hill that I would spin my Claws on to get up. Crawled right up without sliding at all with those crappy stock Dunlops. Then I tried to turn it up on the road, and this is not for road driving. This will be an asset in the future. Diff-lock is for real I think.
Size- its big, but it doesn't look too awful big next to that jacked up AC with the tires and lift and bumpers. I probably won't put much on this new one other than tires maybe. The AC had a lot of crap on it.
Winch will be shipped to me in about 3 weeks, and then it will be complete.
Thats all I've got right now. I'll lay down the review when I get a chance to do something with it that warrants talking about.
Out the door price was a check written for $6468.95 and that includes the winch. Not bad.

Oh yeah, just in case- the statement of origin showed a shipping weight of 639lbs, and showed hp to be 41.5
On top of that, for some reason (and I thought this previously too), I don't think that the IRS yamaha is going to keep all four on the ground as good as the AC swingaxle or the Sportsman IRS. I could be wrong, and I haven't tested it, but something tells me that this yamaha setup isn't going to have the same tilt to it. I'll try the oil change ramp trick on it sometime and find out. I know my AC would have all four on the ground with this test, though there wouldn't be much weight riding on one of the rears. We'll see, but I think the Griz will have a tire in the air when I try it.
