I picked my quad back up from the dealers for it 100 mile check up. I went down on the Piaute ATV Trail and rode. we were riding a long a road and all of a sudden the bike shut off. After fiddling around with it for a while it started back up. It happened a second time. Both times it happened after long (2-3 minute) 5th gear WOT runs. I lossened the gas cap and it didn't happen again. I think I have a kinked tank vent hose or something. It seems that the tank isn't keeping the pressure equal and the carb isn't getting the fuel it needs on the long WOT runs. Has this happened to anyone else? I looked but didn't see the vent hose for the tank. where is it located?

It sounds like you are heading in the right direction. Check your fuel valve for proper operation. Pull the fuel feed to the carb and then turn on the fuel valve and check for solid EVEN flow. You could have a small obstruction. That happened on the old polaris one time. Replaced the vent hose and fuel feed hose and cleared it right up. More than likely it's just a vacuum problem like you addressed. Kind of like holding a bottle of liquid straight up side down, it will come out but it is in large uneven gulps of liquid and air as oppossed to a smooth pour like you want. Good luck.

The same thing happened to me on my 500 man.All you have to do is cut 6 inches or so from the tank vent hose and then put it back in.The vent hose is to long and gets pinched in the steering stem.My dealer did it to mine on my 700 mile first check,I also routed the carb vent a little higher for deep water crossings.Hope this fixes that little problem for you.
