what is the point in buying mariar plastic.

Everyone should know by now that the blue factory plastic Raptors are slower than the black ones. Same thing with the Honda's, I think the yellow is faster than the red but I can't swear to this since my memory is lapsing. The reason you should go with the Maier plastic is due to the special coating like Rain-X that makes it less wind resistant. I've heard of a few Raptors that can go in the low 80s with just this change. It is actually faster than spending your money on a slip-on.

The other reason some people like it is to customize the look of their Raptors or just to flat out replace damaged plastic. There is no point in buying it though if you can just steal it from somebody else. What you do is stop someone who is riding by your house that has it. Tell them you are the fish police...

 

You got the raptor thing all wrong. The white/black raptors are made in a different factory in which the rev limiter was set 400 rpm higher.

Maier plastic has a dull finish too it though. It isn't shiney like factory plastic.

 

I put celephane over Maier plastic to make it shiney and go fast!!!
