Can you run synthetic oil in the Raptor? I lost my manual...i remeber it saying something..does anyone run this or know? Thanks in advance

 

Yes you can. You just need to make sure that the oil does not contain friction modifiers. Synthetic motorcycle oils that are wet clutch compatible (ie. no friction modifiers) work great. After breaking in my raptor I changed the oil and used non-synthetic oil. The second oil change is when I went with synthetic 10W40 AMSOIL. I have about 15 hrs on the bike with the synthetic...everything is great. I think others like Maxima and Motul also make synthetic oils that are wet clutch compatible but AMSOIL was the cheapest that I found.

Synthetic motor oils for cars should not be used. I believe they all contain friction modifiers (apparently if the oil is labeled as being "Energy Conserving" then it contains friction modifiers).

 

I would wait until you have about 10 hours on it. After that you should be fine.
