I recently heard that Steve Holbert was racing his Cannondale in the Pro Class at a GNCC event and the engine let loose.Does anyone know what happened to the engine.I thought this was very strange considering how well these bikes are made.I was hoping to see him win one pro class on this bike this year.He might be almost 40 years old but he is one of the most experienced out there.

I heard since he had one of the earlier versions of the FX that it was one that had the weak flywheel so the engine was fine just that the fly wheel is toast.

His radiator got clogged with mud and overheated in the previous race. He actually ran a good part of the race completely overheated. By that time the damage had been done. There were no repairs done to the engine before the next race. In the next race the engine let go.
