Raptor not the easiest bike to work on PART 2!!
#1
So last night i went back and popped out the carbs again. changed the jets to a 146 and a 148 just like dynojet says to do. I turn the mixture screws all the way in..then back out 3 turns. i do each carb exactly the same amount of turns. I put the carbs back in. when i took out the carb i disconnected the choke. when i put the choke lever back on it didn't feel right. there is something wrong here i think . i will telll you why in a second. I start the bike up and it starts revving and surging popping all this crazy not normal stuff !!! i got scared and shut it down.
I counted how many turns it was origianlly and it was 4 and 1 quarter turns. Can anyone tell me iif the screws are suppose to be exactly the same for both sides, 3 turns out? what is your stock setting? I think something is either up with the mixture screws, or the choke may be screwed up or stuck in position. Or even both or i dunno anymore. I think i am going to go back to stock settings, get rid of my pipe too. Put the stock airbox in and airfilter. One more thing is that i losened the carb boots and took out the spacers..pushed the airbox and evrythig forward a bit.

Either you didn't put it back together correctly or maybe your parking brake is giving you probs. Check the parking brake assembly first. I installed the Jet kit and put on a HMF slip-on on. I went by the directions and it seemed to run too rich still. I then decided to put the whole Big Gun system on and it hasn't run better! The jetting was perfect. No popping or sputtering.
