DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON A TRI-Z
#4
I bought an 86 Z new back in "the day", I own 2 86's and 1 85 right now. I'm currently building one 86 into a racer. I just bought 6 magazines from 1984,85,and 86 with tests and hop-up articles, so I could fill up 50 posts or so with facts, specs, tips, tricks, and stories. If you'd like to correspond via e mail, you can reach me at ConfederateHill2@aol.com, and I'd be happy to discuss the Z with you. (Main Rider, but one of three)86 TRI-Z DG exhaust, .40 over Wiseco, ported/polished, in process of installing 38mm Mikuni carb, special airbox, high mount fuel tank, extended axle....and more porting/head mods on the way.

Hey man, I used to have a Z and I really miss it.I would be staring at the bright blue sky every time I hit the gas.I'm not sure exactly what your looking for, but my suggestion would be get the best pipe made for it, LRD.Also The Z runs the same reeds as the 89-93 YZ125(check part numbers) so get the carbon Fiber reeds for that bike and install them or Duncan makes a pyramid reed valve for it.Good luck with it, you got any pics?

Yeah I have a pic of it but its not the excact one there is only one difference between the one I have a pic of and Mine. The difference is this one has a wierd little yamaha sticker on the forks. If you want the pic just reply and give me your email adress.

I apperciate it, too! I didn't know that anyone besides DG still made an exhaust for the Z. Do you know whether or not there is enough difference between the DG and LRD to warrant a switch? Glad to hear about the Pyramid Valve, too.
