Did I smoke my 2002 Grizzlys Belt?
#1
Hey guys,
Not a good Sitchy, was about 10 miles from the truck today, and went through some water that was deeper than I thought. Ended up about as high as the racks, and it quit, well, I pulled her out, and checked the airbox, no water... And get on to go, and she don't go. Ok, No big deal, its happened once before.. I let her sit awhile, and rev it some in Nuetral, wait like an hour, still no dice... Have my buddy pull me back to the truck, Still don't go, 3 hours home, and she still is aint moving. I did get some smoke/steam, when I was revving it.. I never did rev it real high. Right now, it jerks on takeoff, and won't go under load... Any ideas? I am pretty tight with my dealer, any chance he'll waranty the belt and or repairs? Its only got a bit over 400 miles on it... Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey guys,
Turned out, there is a plastic drain plug, that you just pull out? WTF? I think I might be getting water in there too. It was full of water, dirty, muddy water, so I will probably pull the cover off, and clean her up.. But it does move again! :-) I am really happy about that. I wish I would have known about the plug, I coulda fixed it on the trail, but now I do, so... :-) Thanks!

Yup, Thats right,
A plastic plug.. I think water might even been getting in there, I am thinking I will silicone it in, that way I can still get it out, if need be, but no twigs can rip it out...

You may want to think twice about sealing it up. The plug was made out of plastic and installed so it can be removed without tools in the field and the case drained (if something happens like what happened to you.) I would maybe by a second plug to carry as a spare but overall I would not worry about it, it was designed for field removal so you don't have to get towed home.
Good luck

There is a limit to how deep of water you can drive through its called an ATV. Not a friggin submarine. Next time check out the owners manual before you beet feet for the trails. The reason I say this is because I have gone through the same think as you friend. Ha Ha!!!!!!!!!!
