Did I smoke my 2002 Grizzlys Belt?

Quadman, have you taken your clutch cover off to inspect the clutches and the sheave faces? Reason I ask, if there were mud in there, it can mix with the clutch grease and act like grinding compound and wear out the clutch parts which could result in costly repair down the road.
Take off the cover and look. If dirty, take off the belt by threading 2 long 6mm screws into the driven clutch (close to the center)to open it up. Remove the drive clutch carrier and peel the belt off.
Once there, take the drive clutch bolt out and slide off the outer sheave. You can open up the sheave cover and clean out the old grease and repack it with new. Its a special grease so get it from your dealer (I think its called Grizz Grease).
Check the sheave (pulley) surface where the belt rides. Make sure there is no deep grooves. Keep the surface clean and dry. Check your belt for even thickness all the way around. If thin spot, it will cause vibration - replace it.
The driven clutch is sealed pretty good so you probably don't need to worry about it. Put it all back together and you're set for long trouble free ride. If you're not confident doing this yourself, have the dealer do it. Just a free advice. Good luck.
