Im trying to help a buddy with a Raptor. He has a problem with oil pushing out of the dipstick. The seal is good on the dipstick, but oil seeps out after riding for awhile. He says he followed the Manufacturers instructions for changing the oil and he is a mechanic so I believe he knows what he is doing. He said the clutch seams to slip once-in-awhile too. I was wondering if a worn clutch could be clogging the filter with shavings, restricting oil flow? Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas? He said he was going to try changing the oil again(its due).

He still does have the O-ring right? If you loose that, you will leak oil.

 

If he tightened the dipstick to tight one time it could deformed slightly allowing oil past the seal. Going by mine it doesn't have to be very tight at all to keep the oil in. Chet

 

I believe the O-ring was ok. I will check it again tomorrow. I believe it is building up pressure in the reservoir and pushing past the O-ring. But I will look again. Any other ideas if the O-ring is ok?

 

Maybe it's OVERFILLED with oil. The level changes drastically between hot and cold.

 

If he has put in 3 qts. its overfilled.
