These guys think they have an angle, they're taking a very old issue, which was the three-wheeler fiasco, and packaging it to accident victim's families. They are lawyers who think they can get the leftovers from the previous era, and direct it at the manufacturers, just from the inherent risk in the sport, regardless of the design and quality of construction.
It's like sueing the manufacturer that made Sonny Bono's Skis.
There was an inherent safety issue, "Design Liability" in three wheelers, and a "Joe Camel" marketing strategy. That is not true with quads. Quads are predictable and no more dangerous than any other active sport from skiing or water sports or any number of activities.
Accidents can and do happen, as in all of these type of sports. There is an inherent risk, as we are reminded each time we ride, by those huge, riveted warning signs so prominently affixed to our Quads. Ride at your own Risk. Get proper training and supervision because that is when you are most likely to get hurt, on your first couple of rides, before you really "get it". This is also why the manufacturers are pushing training classes. And why they have such ridiculous age/quad guidelines.
Now what can you do about the Quad-*****? Stay informed, ride carefully, somebody put up a website/link with the TRUTH available to everyone interested. And remember, the manufacturers are well aware of all this with lots and lots of their own lawyers, Plus they've done this before. and they'll do it again, because they are blood sucking lawyers. I ran with these guys. 'Till I dropped out of law school and ran off to Hollywood in a Punk Rock Band (Dirty Dogs/Accelerators,1978)I'm not kidding.

WoodWarrior~

I read throu there site and felt compailed to e-mail them on my thoughts on that subject.

I hope I don't get suied by them, they sound sue happy to me.

I like the one about if the rider isn't 16 he shouldn't ride a quad over a 90cc. Let's think about this, if it's a safty issue - ok fine. Let's not let a 16yr drive a 160lb e-ton 90 because his motor skills aren't fully developed and he might do like 35mph and turn to sharp and flip-over. On the other hand, let's give him a 2 ton, 4 door, 1972, 318ci tank that does well over the posted speedo of 120. Ya, that sounds right.

These kinds of people drive me nuts!

By the way, the car noted above was my first car I learned to drive and had for a yr before I upgraded.

Hey, It just occured to me. Has anyone actually ever seen Bennett? Could that be Bennett in those photo's of his web-site flipping his own 3-wheeler he got in an out of court settlement with someone in his younger day's. Maybe Bennett just doesn't know how to ride and this is his way of winning against the machine he could not control? One last scary thought, Bennett is the tip of the iceberg, there are many more like him out there. Next time you are on the highway trailing your quads to your riding site, look at the people that are looking at your quads.
