give me an honest opinion on the bear tracker
#1
I'm currently shopping for a good used quad for my wife. I am considering a bear tracker. What year did they start with front disc brakes? Is there anything I need to look at when I go to look at a used one? My wife needs something safe, stable, and easy to operate. Is the bear tracker what I'm looking for? Thanks for your input.

A Beartracker is really just a Timberwolf with a few items changed. Beartracker has a bigger carb, racks are slighty different. If this is going to be your wife's Quad I would look at the Recon. It weighs almost 75 pounds less and has a better engineered design. The reverse system is much easier to use and its just done with a button on the left handlebar. My brother n law has a Timberwolf and while it does get the job done for his needs my wife when we go out rides the Recon and she really likes it. The Handlebar locations seem more natural when sitting on the Recon. A low hour used Recon would be about the same price as a beartracker. The Recon even has a double a/arm suspension up front to aid in the handling department. Lots of times when I need to go to the other end of our property I will pick the Recon over are other machines. You would even like riding it. Chet
