Do I need a new crank assembly
#1
My brother just blew the piston on are banshee and the guy we took it to said we needed a whole new crank assembly because we cracked a bearing. But in the instruction manual for the banshee it shows how to take the crank assembly apart. Now whos right and whoevers right where would be the cheapest place to get a new piston and bearing or a whole new crank assmebly.

452,
You can replace the bearings on a banshee crank, however you need to press the crank apart, and then back together, not something that can be done with hand tools, or the average guys power tools either. Most shops that I checked with wanted $300 - $450 to replace all the bearings.
You can buy a new Wiseco 'Hot Rods' crank for under $400. Then it's all new, with all new bearings. Personally, when I had to replace my banshee crank, it got a new Wiseco. Seemed to be the best deal, plus I hear it's stronger than stock (but can't say for sure).
If you're looking for a wiseco crank, magic racing sells them for like $395.. I'm sure many other places carry them as well..
Best of luck..
