You needed to adjust your chain at 8 hours. You must have really been riding that banshee really hard. The chain on my raptor is loud if that helps. I have 44.75 hrs on my Raptor and its still in the deflection range. Chet

I would not trust the markers for chain adjustment. I would bet that the noise is coming from a slightly crooked rear end.
If everything is strait...make sure you do not have the chain too tight.
I just replaced my chain rollers...they are pretty quiet...A little noise. But not very much.

This is a real common problem with the Yamaha factory chain rollers (the lower one). You can replace it with the larger one from Moose and the noise will go away. The problem is Yamaha uses ball bearings instead of needle bearings.

Also if you run a 12 tooth on the front, you can expect a lot more chain noise.

The truth is that the noise you are hearing is normal. BUT, you should really look at the chain adjustement. They tend to be really tight when they are out of the factory and that made it sound louder. Mine was so tight that I thoght that it was going to brake. If you can change it now for a better, lager and wider chain slider.
Good Luck
