Anybody done this? The DS is so tall, my Works steelers are great for trail riding, but a lowered, sag control set-up like TCS shocks could make a big difference in cornering speed and landing jumps....Might be just the thing. I know it ain't cheap, but it could put the DS into a whole new speed bracket....Ground clearance is the rear axle anyway. I wouldn't mind losing a few inches ground clearance up front in exchange for better cornering. New shocks are about $750 plus reworking the rear shock...Gotta stay ahead of my kid on his Raptor....

Talked to TCS, and got an e-mail back from Sandy at Works. Both can rebuild/modify the Works Steelers I already have. CT Racing does the TCS, Sag Control System makeover, including rezzies for $495/pair. Works will add rezzies, a couple of lighter preload springs and adjustable compression dampening for half that.

In back I think a shorter shock is the answer, but to a later question. It will be fine for now, it already has a lot of sag to it, any lowering is going to hit bottom.

I think the cheaper Works way sounds good. Too much lowering in front without doing anything in back could screw up my dialed in TimmyBoy front end geometry.

So it kinda looks like getting some Elkas in the first place or some higher end shocks is where I'm going to end up anyway. The Works Steelers were a steal at $339/pair, and for another $250 I'm pretty close to what they would have cost anyway, so it works out pretty well after all.

If it were me, I would send the works off to TCS along with your rear stocker and have them do them both. Its only gonna cost you the cost of a new front set of TCSs and like you said, it will handle way better. TCS will custom build your shocks sothat your rear wont bottom even if it has a lot of sag already.

I ahve TCS on my R and I LOVE them, wouldnt trade them for anything!

So it boils down to $250 for a little improvement in the front or almost a grand for the REAL DEAL...... What's a girl to do??

How can it be lowered without it hitting the chain roller?

I think the chain roller is a pretty big issue here as far as lowering. I have had no trouble with mine whatsoever, but if I lower it I think it's going to hit 24/7 like Biggy said. Yet another reason to upgrade the front a little and leave the back alone.
