Cleaning Stained Engine Cases
#1
Friend of mine just bought a 2000 Rancher. It is in good shape except the previous owner never cleaned it well. The engine case, and differentials are both stained brown from mud. What is the best way to get this cleaned off?

i dunno if this'll work but it works good for me...its called wheel magic and its supposed to be for cleaning rims but i use it on the engine of my 400 and its awesome! i just spray it on let it sit for a few minutes then i spray it off with a hose and if that doesn't work try cleaning it with a rag.

Well I don't know if they sell this stuff in the states, but I use Superclean. You can purchase it at most automotive stores. I get it at Canadian tire. Its a real heavy duty degreaser that comes in a spray bottle. I somtimes ride In a woodlot not far from my house, and there is alot of this really weird red clay that stains everything, engine, wheels, clothes etc. I spray Superclean on, let it sit for five mins, hose it off and your engine looks like new again.

Oven cleaner!Go to your local dollar store and get some cheap oven cleaner.Spray it on and then powerwash it off.We did this to a old ford 9inch rear in my freinds bosses truck. It worked awesome.
Just be careful not to inhale to much fumes.

not sure on that one.It might it is some pretty mean stuff.I am going to use it on my 300ex engine. It has alot of mud stains on it.I used carb cleaner and that worked in a little area.
I hope this works though.Even if it doesn't it is only a buck!
