Advantages of Steel Braided Brake Lines???
#1
What are the the advantages or running steel braided brake lines. Obviously they are stronger and more durable, but really, do the brakelines on my 250X see enough abuse to make this a cost-effective decision?

If your going to replace them it may as well be with stainless lines. The main advantage of the steel lines is that they are rigid. When press the lever and the oil passes through the stock lines the tubing can expand which will give you less responsive braking. The stainless lines wont need to be pulled in as hard to achieve the same results as compared to the regular lines as well. If you have a few extra bucks I'd go for it, they have no drawbacks other than cost.

Yes, a steel braded line will give you better braking. They also tend to last longer. It is really up to the individual to determine if the xtra $ is warrented for the braded lines.
I have them on my new machine and the difference in my friend's (Sportsman - 2000) without braded brake lines in noticable. My brakes are better.
