Buying a new Banshee very soon and want to set it up for woods riding. Since there are thousands of aftermarket parts available for the Banshee I wanted to get owner opinions of what works best for woods riding. My main goal is increasing torque and low end. I want to widen the Banshee's powerband. I'm looking mostly for bolt-on mods, no internal engine mods. Thanks for your help!

Many people swear by the 2 into 1 pipes (like dynoport) along with a 2 into 1 carb kit (like Trinity). these mods are supposed to bring the "hit" down into the lower rpms.

I have Paul Turner Mid-Range pipes and they added a healthy bottom end, also get a cool-head with smaller domes or have your head shaved, I have the cool head with 21cc domes, I also have boyesen power reeds in stock reed cages, this too helps out the bottom and gives amazing throttle response. Another thing, get yourself a prodesign proflow intake, this helps the power throughout the rev range, but I got it mainly for protection against dirt and dust getting past the stock filter setup. Those are the only products I have for my engine, each helps out, but the pipes made the biggest difference.

I have a 99 Banshee. I put a 2 into 1 pipe, Boysen Rad valves, an Amp Link, and a Steering Stablizer on it. It is the best wheeler I've ridden on Wooded trails. I have friends who have all the FMF junk and they beat me in the open, but I waste 'em when it gets tight.

while id recommend buying a R if u can find one, or a 400ex if u got the money, but u already have one ...but if u do what i did and just get a banshee for woods, then i'd recomned getting duncan mid range pipes, ive also tried a motofast 2-1. right off idle the 2-1 has more power than the duncans, but for mid and top end power, if anything i think they are worse than stock. now this was on a otherwise stock motor (aside from a trinity 2-1 carb) ive heard that if u do mod your motor more the 2-1 pipes are much more affective.
aside from motor work the next mods would be Keeping good tires on your shee and suspension set up for you and your riding.

On my 99 Banshee I bought LRD's adjustable pipes with silencers, even though it lost some low end power power the midrange and top end recieved a huge gain in power.

Also you might want to try a 13 tooth front sprocket (14 stock) to get better low end. It made a difference for me.

A steering dampner like Denton's will make a huge differnce also.
