I put a new clutch in my 250r honda atv and a hinson basket. When you start the bike and put in gear it feels as if it wants to take off before you let the clutch out it starts to creep forward as if you are letting out on the clutch. When you are riding along and pull in the clutch to stop and hit the brakes to where it cant merge forward it will cut the motor off if you dont keep reving it up. I anyone has any suggestions to the cure to my problem it would be greatly appreciatted if you would share this with me.THANKS FOR THE HELP. Text

Did you soak the clutch plates in oil before you installed them in your bike? Does it have the steel round ball inside? Make sure the plates are really saturated with oil before you put them in. Hope this helps.

what year is your 250r?, if it is not an 89 then you have to get the update clutch kit for it. Nacs racing sells it for about like 60 dollars. It gets rid of the steel ball and replaces it with a flat bearing.
I used to have the same problem, clutch wouldnt let go.
You can also adjust the clutch by the cylinder.
Peace.

You do need the clutch update kit. If you already have one installed and the clutch is adjusted properly, it could be a worn pressure plate.
