Mud tire suggestions...HELP!
#1
Ok, I'm needing a new set of mud tires. I need something that is not super heavy, nor super agressive. Something that is excellant in the mud, but also smoothe on pavement. lol, maybe i'm asking too much. I've looked at the 589M/S (titan), Goodyear mud runners, Mud Bugs, Mud Sharks. Anyone have some opinions (and evidence)?
Thanks,
Shaun

Ok, got the 589M/T's in today. They are 25x10x12 on .190 aluminum wheels. They weigh 28 lbs each, where the stock Goodyear trackers weighed 24 lbs each (on steel wheels). Mine is just a 2 wheel drive, so I only ordered the rear 2 to check out the style of the rims. So now, I have only added 8 lbs to the machine. I'm guessing after I put the front 2 on as well, it should be around 14-15 lbs added.
As far as how they work, I am really impressed. The 2 other guys I ride with have 4x4 ranchers with stock tires. Oh, mine also has a lift. My machine made it through the mud quicker than theirs. The only part they beat me in, was if I was asending through a deep ditch. They had the front 2 wheels helping them out.
As far as getting stuck, one buddy got stuck 3 times, the other once, and I didn't get stuck any. Of course i had to rock the machine a few times, but not stuck. It could just be ridding skill, but I think these tires really helped out my machine alot.
My goal is to build my 4x2 rancher to mud just as well as the 4x4's, but not have any of the problems that 4x4's face. I like reliability (as you can see, i bought a honda..lol). I took pictures of everything, including installing the lift. I should get the pictures back next week, and I'll see if I can get them on a website if anyone is interested. take care...

Got them from ROCKYMOUNTAINATV.COM
Sorry, don't know the phone number off the top of my head. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me my stock center caps would not fit these new rims. So till I order their's, my brown hub is showing though on a nice polished aluminum wheel...lol
take care,
