My new grizz has a wurring-rumbling noise in front diff.
It's most noticable at slow speeds. It does'nt matter if i'm in low-range, high-range, 4x4, 2x4, or diff-lock.
I would like to know how many of you have this noise or not. Please post your answer I sure would appreciate it.
P.S. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry it's just the wine on the front diff. I know of three new 2002 660 Grizz's that do that. We took them to the dealers and they siad that it's just the front drive shaft going around. If you have any more ?'s just ask!

My 660 Grizzly has 300 miles and is at the dealer's right now waiting for a new front differential assembly. Mine had a vibration from day one but only when in 4 wheel drive--smooth as silk in 2 wheed drive. After teardown, the dealer said some part was machined too tight but the part was back ordered until 9/30. Because of the part being backordered, Yamaha allowed the dealer to order a complete assembly to get me going. Unfortunately, the unit was shipped from California the day after the twin towers got hit, so I might not see it for a few days yet. I love the Grizzly though, and Yamaha has been good for service.

Check the riva yamaha forum. The tech there says its the bearing in the front diff that goes bad. If your is making the noise, then most likeyly eventually it will go bad. The bearings were backordered, but are now available I hear.
