My 90 suzuki LT500R keeps fouling out spark plugs, and I need some help.
I run 32:1 94 octane fuel. I get about 2 days per plug. When I pull the old plug it is black and wet. I checked with the local shop and they told me to run 32:1. Should i jet it down or lean it out more. This is my first 2-stroke and I like it. When it's not eatin plugs it is sick! I need to remedy this problem.

 

Yea i would drop my main jet size a couple of settings. Do you know what number you are on now?

 

As fast as you are running through plugs, I would imagine your problem would most likely be with the choke circuit. Of course, whenever such a problem is suspected, the carb should first be removed, dismantaled, cleaned inside and out, and adjusted (floats, airscrew, choke). For your problem, pay special attention to the choke components. Are all parts intact? Does it fully seat when in the off position?

Rich jetting causes a black plug too but usually won't ruin plugs as fast as you describe.
