I've been reading posts that talk about the noise guys are hearing when they apply their rear brakes on 660 Grizzlys and and 650 Kaws. I'm wondering if this is caused by the driveshft mounted brakes? When you apply the rear brake the driveshaft slows down first, an instant later, after the backlash in the final drive gearset is taken up the rear axle slows down. The more backlash the more noise.

Never really thought of it. You are slowing down the driveshaft and not the rear tires so there will be a moment in where the two speeds have to match up which would be the rear final gears. Hmm.
