They'd better come up with some soon. I just read the review. Dirtwheels said the steering is a bear, even in 2 WD, and the accelleration is disappointing.

All of the reviews I have seen, stated that the steering was a little hard at slow speeds , BUT , it would stretch your arms when it came to acceleration! I have a hard time believing that this beast would have a power problem! As far as modifications that are available, I haven't seen any yet. I will be able to confirm all aspects of this atv as soon as mine comes in!! HOPEFULLY SOON!!!!!!!!!

Actually, they said the 500HO was faster off the line, but the 700 would beat it in top speed.

From what the Polaris rep said in Dirtwheels, they had to re-clutch the machine to make it more ridable. The problem was that the 700 wheelied too much. So a clutch kit might be in order. Any motor that can lift the front end of a 740lb quad gets my vote.

The question that needs to answered here is it a P-90 clutch? The p-90 is the standard atv clutch. So what is in the 700 twin? I'll be going to the dealer soon to look in the sevice manual to see what exactly changed.

I checked the 500 X clutching already. The same as the current HO.

Maybe just changing the 700 twin to 500 HO clutching will get us a 75 mph wheelie machine! Inquiring minds want to know...

i think it will have some soon, watch for hot seat performance, hpd, chopper city sports, aaen performance...
i just heard some first tought on the new sp 700 and this 4x4 will be a pretty wicked machine if you install 2 carbs on it and bigger as well,2 tune pipe and mufflers, clutch kit,cam heads...
will be near or + 60 hp i think...
good luck with the new beast,i'm sure it rule as king again.

Lets not forget the biggest mod. Remember that this engine is a sleaved down version of the 780cc in the Polaris Frontier snowmobile. I know the aftermarket companies will jump on this one, considering that it is so easy compared to what it would take to raise the cc's by 100 in other engines.

The SP700 bore and stroke is 80x68.

Anybody know what the spec's are for the frontier.

you got it,the engine come stock at 683cc and this motor is firstly a 780 cc,so you have 100 cc sleeping in your cylinder, this quad will rip!
a stroke of 68mm is very interesting too...
