Will a 1500 lb superwinch work on a recon? I can fabricate a mounting plate so thats not a problem. can the electrical system hold it? Or does anyone know of another winch that is better for around $150-200? Any input is appreciated.

The 1500lb Superwinch will work fine on your Recon, the electrical system will hold it ok. On the thought of mounting the superwinch, why not just by a mounting kit? You can get them fairly cheap at www.cyclecountry.com.
