660 Grizz first ride...

I had a 00' Kodiak before this Grizz, the Kodiak was nimble and light in the steering...great feel to it. I was wondering if the Grizz would be comparable with regard to steering. It's heavier, so it won't be as light up front... It turns out this 660 feels even better then Kodiak! Power, yeah it has more then Kod. but it didn't blow me away like I had expected. To be fair, I just launched it 5 or 6 times and I didn't push it past 35 mph. I'm going to baby it for the first 20 Hr's...it won't see 60 mph until then.
Some other post mentioned back-firing on shut down, this happened once so far. I've only one hour on it, I am impressed with the ride.
At idle, it not as smooth as I would like, sounds like it's choked just alittle but the choke was in it's proper position. Maybe this is all part of the break-in?

I guess I will tell about it in here as I cant find where to post a new topic LOL. My Supertrapp got wet a few months ago and ever since it has started to stink when I ride it. Yesterday I took out the inner core, planning on repacking it. I had such a hard time getting it out that I practicly ruined it. It was unusable so I decided to make the "quite core" into a race core. I knocked out the internal baffle inside the core. I repacked it and installed the 12 disk and installed it inside the muffler. Right off I noticed it was much louder than before. I rode it and the Kodiak didnt run near as good as before. Like it wanted to go but couldnt. I rode it for a minute and then pulled it into the garage and checked the plug. Its was bright white just like when new. I installed the 130 main jet which is one jet higher and tested it like that. Now I can get full wheelies with the Kodiak with stock tires. All I have to do is jerk up on the handlebars. Its very possible to even flip the Kodiak.
I tested today with the 27" mudbugs and they are so heavy all I can get so far is about a foot off the ground. Its just as amazing how the Kodiak performs with heavy tires as it is with the Supertrapp modification. I havnt gotten a chance to test top speed yet but hope to do so Wend or Thurs.
I have posted about this in HL, ATV Time and Muddyatvs. I only posted to let guys know the difference the gutting of the Supertrapp made and not bragging about being able to easily do wheelies with the Kodiak. If you can stand the louder "over 100db" sound, not going to hunt, and ride in certain areas then I would highly highly recommend getting a race core with an after market muffler. The low end is incredible now and I believe top end will be faster also. Its got to be with the larger main jet. I have never gotten wheelies with the Kodaik at any time. Now I can ride them with ease. I owe it to the Supertrapp with the core modified into the race core.
