After reading a post on paint problems on the Silver Grizz. I am asking anyone that has one and has had a chance to do a lot of riding to post how there finish is holding up. Also mention what type of riding you do most. Mud, Water, Trail. Also what is the color of the underside of the plastic? I am getting close to my ordered Silver Grizz being delivered and wonder if I should rethink the color choice.

Thanks,
Jeff

I haven't seen a siver griz, but the magazine reviews say it has black plastic with a flexible silver paint similar to what they use on car bumpers and mouldings. I've considered getting the camo griz, but wonder if it is done on black plastic also. (At least the scratches wouldn't show as much on camo). Any one else heard anything on this?
From what I've heard, people have been waiting for a long time for the silver griz, and it's only just starting to ship now.

I own a camo grizz and its the best decision I ever made I run through a lot of brush and woods trails and after a bath and some armor all it looks brand new. If you look real close you can see some scratches but nothing like my old Grizz. I have seen the silver Grizz and beleive me it is pretty pretty pretty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. But who knows how long it will look that way.

the camo griz has the color compound in the plastic so it wont scratch. I wrote the story in The forum of silver griz paint problem!?!?!?!??! and to comment on the silver grizzly I saw it with my own two eyes and the scratch stuck out like a sore thumb. Extremely disappointed. I am just some jacka$$ who loves quads and even I know well enough that you can't paint plastics, yamaha shocked me with that bone head move.

My understanding is the flex agent in the paint is only there for a limited time after application. It facilitates drying without cracking. Once the agent evaporates with the solvents the flexibility is severely limited.

I am no paint expert, this is just what I have been told by some body shops.
