Timing advance....would a timing plate or timing key be best? WHat are the gains?

Shaving head.....maybe .030-.040? Again, what gains could I expect?

Anyone done either of these mods? Please respond? THanks!!!!!

Buying a Banshee Gary?
Anyway, I have shaved my head .040 and I did notice a diffence in performance. I seemed to gain some low end power, whcih is where the Banshee needs help. I dont have the timing advance key, but a buddy of mine has one and it did make his perform better. Early in the summer I was beating him by a couple of quads, then he got the timing key and well, he was not getting beat quite as bad. I would recommend both of those mode. In fact, Ive been meaning to order a key, so I think I will right now. Thanks for the reminder!!!

Na...it's for my bro's 'shee. I ride it about as much as I ride the Raptor and like it just as much. I am starting to put some serious distance between my ride and his, so he is gonna equal the playing field .

So .040 did'nt get you into any clatter or detonation? I have heard that .040-.045 is about the limit on pump gas. We normally ride around 0-2000 feet above sea level.

If shaving the head and the key can each pick up a lenght or 2 in a drag, then it would be worth it.

No, i think .040 would be pretty just right, problem is, I was riding at about 8000 feet of elevation, but that is what was recommended to me from people at sea level. I actually could have gone to .060, but knew I was moving to Phoenix soon. YOu will definitely pick up a few more lengths...These are actually the two most inexpensive mods that can be done to the Banshee. To me the cool-head is a waste of money, they dont seem to actually cool the motor anymore. I went with a Pro Design Mega Impellor for the water pump and have not overheated since (off subject, sorry)!
