Hello everyone,

I told everyone that I would post a message as soon as the installation was done on my machine. Well, I installed the exhaust exactly as the directions from Big Gun specified. I replaced the main and pilot jets from 140L to 150L and 145R to 155R and pilot jets to 27.5. Well, I can tell you this much, the exhaust sounds really nice. It is louder than stock, (which is expected) but not up noxious. The mahcine is running very rich. So rich in fact, that my eyes are tearing!. I tried adjusting the mixture screws, with no luck. I tried leaning it out by taking the air box lid off, still, it was breaking up badly at full throttle. So what I'm going to do now is, install the 145L and 150R main jets and I'm going to go from there. I hope that this will cure my problem. I'm sure once I have the machine running tip top, without the rich condition and the top end surging and hesitating, the machine will have more power. I can feel the power difference from the start. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thank You,

IronBear

glad to see you finally got the quiet gun! what kind of air filter are you running?
i am have my stock exhuast system with the pro-design kn filter and the flaps
cut out of the snorkle with 2 uni vents in the lid. my jetting is 150-155 mains
and 25 pilots i am a little rich i am waiting to get a new silencer before
i re-jet. if your rich try letting more air in to your airbox.

give me some more detail on the sound of your silencer! is it to quiet enuff
to keep the neighbors from calling police?

Is it the 96dB or the 94 dB model? I heard BG was doing a re-design because the quiet core wouldn't meet a 94 dB limit.

VMAX12 & 95Warrior,

The exhaust is the 96db level. I think it would be at the point, if you get on it on the loud side where it would annoy neighbors. I plan on tuning my bike in the woods today to see if it will run better. VMAX12, to answer your question about the air filter. I'm running the stock air filter with Yamaha jets. I did not purchase the dyno jet kit. However, if I'm still having this rich condition, then I might consider it. I opened the air box lid when I was running the machine with the jets specified from Paul, but it was still hesitating badly at full throttle.

IronBear,

Why the change to the pilot jet? I think you should try switching this back.
