Raptor...Warning about 22 in tires
#1
I have 22in razors on the mighty raptor and today while riding I blew past a few other riders and they said they saw smoke from my quad. I looked at my tires and I have a nice new groove in the tread from where the Foot gaurd hit the tire. So anyone investing in new tires watch the top speed. I was running around 70. Just for precaution watch your wheels with over size tires.

I have 20" Razors (4 Ply). I run them because of the stiffer sidewall, less body roll and it makes for better slides. The traction is still very good also because of the Raptors short wheelbase. And it gives you a little more of a non-stock look. Only problem I had with them is that obviously 20" Razors are taller than the stock 20" radials so I had to change my gearing. (14-40 to 14-42).

At high speeds the tires get skinnier and taller. That is why they were rubbing. I took a come-along and bent the foot gaurds forward about and inch. No more rubbing and I cannot tell that I bent them while riding. I put the 22 in razors on because 1 I needed the clearance and 2 the stock tires are weak. I got a blowout the first week I had my Raptor.
