building a super go-cart?

Last night while at the big river atv nationals.I saw a bad buggy/go cart.IT was just big enough for the guy.But tucked in behind him was a 4 cylinder street bike motor!It was super fast beating some modded banshee's!
My buddy (the same one who's truck I flipped) is already building one using an old 185 2 cylinder suzuki street bike motor.The guy he lives with is an engineer.And knows how to design stuff.
One of my other freinds has a old honda street bike sitting in the weeds at his house.I am not sure of the cc's but I know it is big.I have stock 250r A-arms,spindals,shocks.And I have a stock 250r rear shock.I was wondering how hard would it be to build a go-cart with a 4 cylinder street bike motor with about 10 inches of suspension and triple disk brakes.I would like to use the stock 250r rear axle I have.I think IRS would be to complicated.
My buddy already has all the throttle,clutch and shifting mechinism's worked out on his.I would use the same plans for those.My dad has built a tube frame for his old 69 camaro and his 32 ford 5 window coupe.And we have ALL the nessicary tools.My question is do U think this is logical or am I dreaming?

A sled motor is a better way to go. They have much better power to weight ratio. The CVT trans is also ideal.
Swing axle is an easy IRS setup. All you need is a u-joint on each side of the frame and a pillow block and bearing near the wheel bolted to an arm that connects to the frame with a hiem joint.
Another option is to pick up a 350 Odyssey for $2500-$3500. It already has four wheel independant suspension, electric start and reverse. You can get upwards of 60HP with mods on pump gas. I know of one for sale in Missouri that is ported with a larger carb, pipe and Works shocks. Probably has a few other mods.
