the motor in my tecate was just rebuilt and it's now a 265. after a hard day of riding at the MX track, i parked it. the next morning when i got up to start it, the kickstarted wouldn't budge. it was tight as cement. i cussed for a while then went at it again, after i kicked the **** out of it (way to hard) it finally broke loose, and started, but it sounded kinda funny at first. it's been running fine ever since, but every now and then the kickstarted acts like it wants to stick again... i had a mojave at one time, and i know that kawi has a pretty week gear in their kickstarters, at least they did inthe 80's, i dont know about the knew ones. but i was just wondering if this could be some motor trouble aside from the kickstarter. help me out guys!

Sounds sort of like you seized your motor. When you had your motor rebuild did you check your jetting to make sure it was not running lean. I would take off the head and check out the inside of the cylider and see if it is all scored up or not. That funny noise you heard was probably the skirt of the piston slapping against the cylinder and if it was you will have to get it bored so that the scratches are gone.

another thing it could be is the floats sticking on your carb and filling the crank case full of fuel. do you shut your gas off when you're done riding?

a crank case full of fuel is pretty hard to compress
