My buddy has a Scrambler4x4 but his 4-wheel drive isn't working. He doesn't want to take it to the dealer. What things could we look at ourselves to see whats up?

By the way, the AWD light seems to work but the front wheels dont turn. Plus if we can not find the problem before the weekend...does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the driving shafts going towards the front?

Thanks...need ideas!

Brian, Have you changed the fluid in the hubs and all the simple stuff?

How's the Scram coming? Have you gotten your stuff back from HPD ? The foaming in the float bowl would explain the high EGT in the mid range. Also, with the combustion chamber off ( machined improperly ), that could throw some detonation into the picture. All in all, not conducive to engine life !!!
My 400's been sitting most of this year, Hunting season started this Monday and I don't want to be in the woods "stainking" of two stroke exhaust. Besides, who wants to creep around trying to be quiet on a 400 !!!

I don't remember if I told you, but I sold the 300 Honda and bought a 650 Prairie about 3 months ago. What a great ute/sport quad !!! It runs about like the SC ran for the week it was stock... I got to take it out to one of the islands about 8 weeks ago in the Landing Craft Boat, what a blast in the sand on the beach. Best part of it is I got paid to take it out there !!!! Heck, I sure do like my Job. We even took a BBQ grill out with us and cooked a shore lunch for the clients. Talk about customer service ! We aim to please !!
Looks like you & Zorro have some snow riding coming before long.

Capt, Sorry for the long delay in responding. We were all gone riding this week-end. The Scram is still at HPD but I am calling them in about 20 minutes to see whats up. I am actually looking forward to riding her again. While she was at HPD I had them add a velocity accelerator in the carb, a chain tensioner in case I feel the need to jump and a girdle kit to match there new head. I just saw there new billet thumb throttle kit...wow! I have to keep myself from spending though.

I too have not mounted the Scram since last spring...just for jetting tests. I have to admit that I am pretty stoked about my Raptor. It is much funner to hang with the other sport quads in our group. That 650 looks like a great machine too.

I too am heading up north for a bit of hunting soon. Quail, deer... but mainly reading my ATV magazines while falling asleep under some tree in the middle of the woods! hehe...

What kind of work do you do again?? Riding on the job...what a great life!

Yeah, yeah, yeah... It pays the bills, I guess... LOL
Sorry, the sarchasm doesn't translate well to the printed word.

I was in the woods on Saturday watching deer watch me with my bow in my lap. I did get a good nap in !!! I hope my snoring didn't disturb the deer too much!!!
