What's up:

I wanted to know if you have to jet the Lakota after installing a SuperTrapp IDS race series pipe. I live at about 32 feet above sea level, but sometimes I'm up in the mountains around 5000 feet. The only mod I have is a uni filter.

I know with my Mojave I did not have to jet. I bought a White Bros. and it runs perfect with the stock jetting, that's how they are made. That's why I was wondering about the Lakota.

Please respond if you can help me out.

hossman,
I've dynoed many bikes (never a atv or motocross) and I can tell you not only will a jet kit add more accelleration to the mojave but will do more for the lakota.
I've seen true fact on a dynometer that no two bikes that came out of production have the same power curves. I'm talking same make and model.
The most important fact here is you have two bikes with cv carbs.
Sense the lakota has to drill out the slide lift hole (majave doesn't) this tells me the lakota has more to gain.
Now I'm talking from a pure performance point of view.
No bike per say has to be jetted, but to enhance your pipe investment buy a jet kit with a after market air filter and you won't regret it!
I have no ambition to argue this fact, just try one and you will see my point.

On the lakota add a 13T sprocket and then enjoy the fruits of the 300!!!!!!

I agree w/gaff-You are letting more air go thru your motor, now let it open up with some more gas also. Check your plug, I bet you are really lean-especially at 32 feet. The difference proper jetting makes will amaze you.
