I was doing some maintenance on my quads this weekend. Installed steering modification (heim joints)and the Ritter steering post bearing on my Sportsman. The job worked out very nicely. No play in steeing at all!!!! I then went to work on my sons 00Trailboss, while riding I noticed his A arms bushings were shot. So I picked up the bushings and went to install them. As I mumbled under my breath about doing this job because it has only 1500 miles on it and is well greased at all times. I noticed that that the bushings were not bad but the front ear that the bolt goes thru was cracked on both left and right side. Now im a little ****ed beacuse the kid only weighs maybe 120lbs. The quad couldnt lift the front wheels up on a bet. Maybe he jumped it 2 feet in the air a few times, certainly not enough to crack the A arm mounts. I have had my Sportsman much higher in the air and and alot more often with my fat butt on it. I see no reason why this should have cracked on both sides in the same spot. This bothers me because the Sportsman A arms are mounted the same way. Has anyone ever experienced this or is just my luck?

i have a 00' tboss and my front end is the same way. i just thought it was the way i ride. and my riding buddy has a 00' tblazer with the same. i am replacing the a-arms next week with the aenn brand. they will give me three more inches in width so the front end will be like the trail blazer or scrambler. it does suck that we are putting money like this into relatively new machines.
