Ohtsu Radial Tires
#1
Is anyone familiar with the Ohtsu radial tires being used on both the new 2003 Honda Rincon and Bombardier’s 650 Baja? Every article I have read pertaining to either of these wheelers have all committed on how much the Ohtsu radial tires improve the handling of the wheeler and are one of the key components in the overall performance of the ATV. They say the Ohtsu radial tire offers less rolling resistance and reluctance to roll-over in turns. Sounds to me if you mounted these on a set of bead lock OMF Douglas Wheels you would have an outstanding setup. Could this be one of those “best kept secrets” we are all searching for? Does anyone have any info or feedback?

Radial tires compared to bias tires on an ATV add much more control as they do on cars and trucks. Not quite sure why more makers don't produce them. As for snow riding my 400EX goes great until it high centers on the rear skid plate. In the trails here in Wasington state
that I ride there is mud, gravel and rocks. I have damaged 2 tires and only 1 was not repairable and that was a severe sidewall cut. The other was a barbwire puncture and I plugged that. When I wear these stock tires out I know the next set will be radials and the same brand if they still sell them. I don't see these wearing out for at least another year. I have over 800 miles logged riding with my son, according to his Honda Rancher's odometer and they still look good. I believe that if radials wern't good tires they wouldn't be putting them on performance quads like the Yamaha Raptor and Honda's 400EX. After all those factory boys have done more homework than most of the so-called Experts that to modify there quads. Mine goes plenty good for me straight out of the box!! Hope this helps.

Thanks 2Dogs, I have my second Kawasaki 650 (the first burned up in a house fire) so I'm doing my best to set it up exactly as I had it and at the same time add some new items to make it even better. I will have a set of Ohtsu radials on my OMF bead lock .190 Douglas rims as soon as I can get them ordered. Thanks a ton for the feed back and good riding.
