i was wondeing how u powercoata framelike do u have to take everything off like engine ext. or can u jus paint it ? and how long does t tke and is it hard taking everything off? and can u jus liek covr up the engine a-arms and crap to do it or not?

 

It is time consuming. You have to take every little thing off the frame. I just had mine done black and it took them about 1 week to do it. My friend has had his powdercoated for about a year now and t is still holding up. It is definatly a good way to strengthen your frame and add a custom look to your bike. If you worked at i you could take your bike apart in one day, thne put it together the day you got it back. JUst make sure that the place that is powdercoating t plugs all the screw holes so you dont need to buy a bunch on metric taps. (i had that problem with a few holes, it cost me an extra 15 bucks [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] So make sur ethey do that otherwise powdercoating a frame inmy mind is a good starting point in making a custom bike...

i was going to have my frame powdercoated and gusseted , its new because i broke my origional stock one at the track jumping , it broke on my 400ex right around the front shock mounts in 4 places , the shocks came up and messed up all my plastic and stuff. honda bought me a new one even though the warrenty ran out 6 months before, well i was wondering were i can get the little gusset pieces from, my uncle is a sprint car crew cheif and quite a good welder so he was going to weld it the gussets in my new frame for me. i was going to get it powdercoated silver vein , does any1 know how much this costs usually?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]
