i need some help, ideas, solutions what ever. i bought my 87 200x of a kid that did not do too much matinence to it. when had it he wanted to change the exhaust. a aluminum cobra pipe. well in the process of doing it he broke the old studs in half getting them off, genius right. well i need some ideas on how to get them out now the threds are bad on it and it looks like it can be a big problem. any suggestions .... thanks alot.

try an EZ-OUT,if that dont work ,you might have to drill out the old studs and tap them 1 size bigger,you could go w/ studs or just use bolts,good luck to you on that[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

what do you mean use just use bolts. like go put bolts for the re tap job?

exactly,if you use bolts,ya might have to shim the flange w/ a couple washers,personaly,i dont like hokey/rigged stuff but sometimes a custom fix-it can do wonders,ive done this before or i wouldnt have posted and it just might help,good luck to ya dude[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

In the unlikely event you have a "real" machine shop near you they might have an EDM type mill. That would allow for clean removal of the old stud without needing to retap the head.
