I have a 1995 Wolverine with the inherent hesitation when punching the throttle wide open. Does anyone know of a cure for this problem? Will a Dynojet kit help?
Thank you in advance.

I already have a WB E-Series pipe on my Wolverine. How many discs did you find to work the best and what jet size are you using? Is it included in the Dynojet jet kit?

the 95's are known to be jetted leaner on the pilot than the 96 on, adding the pipe etc has made it more noticeable. The other recommendations made by macgiver sound logical. The dynojet needles are worth the money, they make two kits for the Wolvy, 94/95 and 96 on so the setups are clearly different.

possibly try increasing the idle mixture (richer) to set if it helps with the flat spot.

This problem occured when the wolverine first came out. It was caused due to the oddly shaped intake, to fix this problem, go up one step on the pilot jet, that is exacally how they fixed this problem on the 96's. Think about it, if you are getting hesitation when it is punched that means you are running lean, therefore you will need to get more gas through the pilot jet, this can easily be sovlved by going to a bigger pilot jet. if i'm not mistaken you can go to the dealer and ask for the update kit. Look at your serial number before you go because i think you need it.

I put a Dynojet kit in my Wolverine today and it made it worse !!!! I noticed the jet in the kit was quite a quite a bit smaller than the stock. Can I use the new needle and raise it one groove and put the stock jet back in? I have an E-Series pipe and a Pro Design intake installed.
If need to jet up from the stock, where can I purchase one? Thanks in advance.

The problem is not in the jetting. I believe Yamaha had to put a different size carb. on the newer models to solve this problem.

In 95 the Wolvereine used the 36mm Mukuni carb this carb was too much for the old school 350 and caused low end bog and hesitation on
wide open throttle from idle- the 96 and up use the smaller but more effective 34mm carb. It has been my experience that by leaning up the mixture you can eliminate most of the hesitation. You might try removing the air box lid and reving it to see if that helps.
If so you will need a smaller jet to reduce the amount of fuel, or buy a less restrictive filter. Try this and see if it works, if not let us know.

I'm curious to how you guys came up with the idea that the '95 had a bigger carb than the later models. I have a '95 and it has a Mikuni BST34mm carburetor and it came stock with it. The difference in the earlier year was the jetting not the size, I have a '95 and have read up on this problem. The '95 Wolverines come stock with a #135 main jet and a #42.5 pilot jet with the pilot screw 2 turns out. The problem is NOT that the bike is getting TOO MUCH gas from a larger 36mm carburetor its that its running lean on the bottom end, therefore it hesitates and then picks back up. Yamaha fixed this problem on the '96s on up by simply going one step higher on the pilot jet. I think you can get this problem taken care of by just simply changing jets. I know what the problem is but I'm not yet sure what to do about it. The jet kit that I put on my bike did not effect the hesitation at all. The jet kit comes with a larger needle and and a smaller jet, the main jet in the jet kit is #120 for the stock w/ high performance. air filter and a #122 for an after market high performance exhaust. Try going to the dealer and asking them what they think, I pretty sure they have an update kit.

I have a new 2001 wolverine with maybe 30 hours on it and it has a miss that is just off idle. Give it more gas and its fine. Its real annoying tho because alot of my riding is in woods just kind of riding slow and looking around. Dealer said yamahas are set up lean and are known to be cold blooded and have this problem, he said bring it in to have the pilot jet drilled out. Anybody know if I can do this?
