Hold your money.
I have a 01 lakota $3600 out the door, The 01 mojave next to it I could have got for the same price.
At the same dealer they now have a 2000 banchee for 3999, probably could talk your way for that out the door.
Look around travel to some other towns, search the internet.
Do what ever it takes.
I see 98, 99 model ex, worrior banchees, and maney others for 3500 from private owners.
Just look around be patient and it will come

It's listed as 8.5" ground clearence.........front shocks6.9".......rear shocks8.5"
As far as comparing to the mojave, the mo has a couple more mph on top end and out accelerates it, this would be in drag racing.
As far as lap times on mx and cross country, the lakota is faster, as per some mags I read they say the lakota is quicker on the track than alot of quads.
Now the real deal from me who owns one and puts it through hell.
Stock it's not much, with a jet kit, supertrapp,K&N air filter and 13T counter sprocket ($300 shipping included) it flat out flies.
GPS 58mph, trails, the small chasis and narrow just enough lets it fly through the trails with a good bit of low end to carry you through just about anything. They tell me it wieghs 448lbs, all I can say is I don't own ramps, I'm pretty big, and lift wieghts, but I load this thing in my truck by my self every time, 447lbs, I'm not that strong.
The top speed and high revving is limited to the head thats on it, the cam is quite good, a port and polishing would get more gains out of this quad than any other. only because the head is poor, straight off a utility.
As far as ground clearence, I'm not sure but I believe it has close if not the most for any thing classed as a sport.
I don't have my skids yet and have been practicing for cross country racing this spring, had no problems yet and don't even have any dings or dents underneeth.
Now if you want a 400EX go get one, but if you want one of the best of both worlds this is a good one.
If your wondering about the outo clutch, it's a good one, true lock up, you can wheelie by shifting gears and power wheelieing, no slippage.
Rider ability is every thing, but on the sport side, I've had very little trouble with the 300EX, stock I could stay on them but couldn't pass, now it's a different bike.
Hope this helps and please I'm not trying to rag anyone just a review of a quad through my eyes.
32 years riding and racing, so lets not go thier either

wow, thats good for a lakota, but i got my 96 scrammy for $2500, and it goes around 70 miles per hour, has great suspension (as far as soaking up bumps, nice ride, handling for a 4x4 and small to medium jumps go) it accelerates crazy, takes to mods like a fish takes to water, has true ALL WHEEL DRIVE and cal pull and hold wheelies very easily, great snow/mud/trail/rock/hill/fun/and flying machine, it it will beat a warrior or lakota/mojave easily in a drag race, look into one of those as i see you alreayd are, go for a 400 two stroke
