Buying a new quad(hopefully)
#1
OK, I will HOPEFULLY be getting a new quad pretty soon. I am probably going to go with the Raptor because I can't get to a Cannondale dealer. I have never bought a new quad so, when you finance them, can you still "wheel and deal" with the dealers or do they stand their ground on price, accesories, etc. Thank you for any info. Also, I am only 15, if I want to test ride, I am gonna have to lie about my age, do they do any checking to see if I am really that old or what?

one, being 15, have dad go with you that is the best thing to do. yes the dealers wheel and deal and be sure to shop around, if ther are no other dealers in your area, use the power of the internet, most dealers will quote a price to your email they did it for me and saved me a lot in gas too!!! good luck

each dealer is different. not too many have " test ride " atvs, but its not a dumd question to ask. the best thing is to ride a friends if possible. i know one dealer here will let a test ride and one down the road wont!!! good luck

Like other people have mentioned wheeling and dealing depends alot on the dealer. Ive encountered some that stand their ground while my favorite dealer will easily drop 300-500 dollars off the tag price. And as far as test driving it Id say yes they should let you. Having an adult with you may be also be a good idea so they dont blow you off as some kid trying to get a joy ride. The most important thing in getting a new quad is to make sure it fits you. Once you drive both pick the one that you feel the most comfortable on. If you feel one quad is "squirrely" or strange try some different options or go for the other quad. Ill admit it im a die hard Yamaha fan......Mostly because im very partial to their "style" of ergonomics. I feel very comfortable when hoping on the seat and grabbing the handlebars.
Some people may boo and hiss but also if its your first quad be careful about how "big" of a quad your getting. You dont want something thats going to scare you when your out having fun and punch the throttle! Just line up all the different aspects of both quads and decide which is best for ME? Dont get me wrong im not going to say buy the Raptor. Every person out there is going to have a different preference! Its great to have many companies out there to consider when looking for a quad! Take the time to shop and you'll be much more satisfied later! Like I mentioned above take the time to find out which one of these quads is going to best fit you.........Dont worry about which is faster especially for a first bike. Remember you can always trade in later. Good Luck in picking which bike is best for you!

OK first off, this is not my first quad, I have been riding for 12 years. The real reason I am considering the Raptor is because of liquid cooling, and reverse is nice sometimes. I still don't know for sure if I can get one yet or not, but when I find out, I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the replies.

I just got a new quad too and I'm 15. The company that we bought it from let me ride eit before we bought it so it was cool. I got the grizzly 660 but my dad was there with me too and he got them down a lot on the price. We got a really good deal on it but we had to drive a little but what we saved it was worth it. Hope you get what fourwheeler you want.

Well of course, I can't get one right now. I know someone is gonna say "get a job" but when your 15, it a pain in the a$$. Anyone have any idea's? I know it's not exactly quad related, but I have been waiting 2 years for a quad, and don't want to wait anymore.
