I am trying to decide between these two atvs....any comments?
Durability???? i will be trail riding...some mud and water....speed
is not important. i will use it for some work too.

What about drum brakes with the honda and disc with the yamaha?

Thanks,

I have a 01 Wolverine and it is a great trail riding machine. The speed is very good at 55 plus. I tracked mine with a GPS and had it to 54 and still pulling strong but ran out of room. Suspension travel is long at 7.1 inch and 8.5 inch of ground clearance. Motor runs great and many aftermarket parts to make it the way you want. All in all I really like the machine. Weight is very good as well at only 485lbs. Climbs hills well and is geared very well. It does not have a super low 1st gear like a true utiltiy machine does but it still has plenty of low end pulling power. I pulled a Banshee 6 miles through the mountains with no problems.

All in all it is a great all around machine. It is a true sport utility and is hard to beat by anything similiar.

A Rancher is better if you want to put on big mud tires since it is geared lower.

The disk brakes on the Wolverine and stop great with great compression braking. I ride down most hills in 2nd and no brakes so I expect them to last a long time before replacment is needed. Drums just don't work as good as disks period.

I have to agree the Rancher is more utility than sport. It is better if you want mud tires on it.
