I am going to get a set of handle bars for my Banshee. I know the pro tapers cost more than the renthals, but are they that much better?

 

Pro-Tapers offer a smoother ride, if you're riding mostly on the dirt. Renthals in the sand are no different than Pro-Tapers, except when landing big jumps. The Pro-Taper's absorb a lot of shock of vibration, on landings and through rough stuff. I've had them both at the same time, on different bikes, and will always go back to the Pro-tapers. Well worth the extra money.

 

I have Renthals on my 400EX and I'm happy with them. They save about 2-3 pounds over stock plus they make the bike look better. With Pro-Tapers, don't you have to get a new clamp? Pro-Tapers, with a new clamp, costs about $150 compared to $70 for Renthals.

 

I run Renthals on mine and they are sweet. They really smooth things out. I can feel them flex when rippin through the whoops. They also absorb alot of the vibration you get when you get the "RPMS" up on the bike. My hands used to get numb from the vibration. They are both nice bars though. Guess it will mostly depend on your budget.
