Blaster vs 250EX
#4
Well if there tight trails then I would suggests the 250EX (does he ride quads now or is this his first ?) But if he is going to to jumoing more then 3ft in the air the Blaster would be better, the brakes aren't the greatest ont he blaster but neither are the rears on the 250EX. If theses are faster trails like 3rd gear + then get the blaster, it has more power higher top speed and is VERY responsive to mods, you cna change the gearing on the blaster too. Blasters are fun little machines but some like the 250EX I say blaster for faster trails! Oh yea the blaster is a better climber then the 250EX but it will take more work to maintane.

well, i know what KILLER250R is talking about, when i get on my 250EX i try to hit some of the jumps i hit on my 400EX, but my back tells me i done it for a few days, but my buddies blaster dont land much better, i cant tell a difference and he trys to say the honda lands better than his blaster. i am not downing yamaha at all cause if honda dont have another bigger sport within the next year or two there will be a raptor sittin in my garage, but on my buddies blaster, it is now 2 years old and he has had nothing but trouble with it, when it was six months something broke in the clutch, he aint got brakes, and aint had for the past year, and he has had trouble with the carburetor about every three months since he bought it new.

Hmmmm i would DEFINITELY take the 250EX if it were me. Yamaha is okay but,Honda is the most reliable thing around. I haven't had ANY
problems with my 250EX. But have only had it for a month. But friends have had theirs longer and have not had any problems with it. They don't even take care of them very well at all. They still have all the
stock parts on it including air filter and haven't cleaned it once in
3 or 4 months. About the 250EX being a bad on trails......I think your
totally wrong it works great for me,yes it is a little tippy on curves but you can work with that. It handles jumps great it's light and predictable in the air. It also has less maintenance then the Blaster because it has a drive-shaft rather then the chain and sprocket system
In the end if it were me i would buy the 250EX.
P.S I have gotten 5 and 6 feet on jumps with the 250ex.
