Raptor / Warrior rear axle bearings.
#1
Are the stock rear axle bearings in the Raptor and Warrior servicable or are they sealed ? I noticed that the OEM replacements for the Warrior are $40+ PER SIDE !! I figured I'd better keep them healthy and happy if possible. Also, does anybody know of a good source for quality aftermarket bearings that are not as costly as OEM ?

I have had 3 Warriors, all of them new (88' 95' 98') after the bearings went bad on my 88' I bought factory bearings and drilled the carrier in the back and put a zerk fitting in, also drilled a hole and put a small bolt in so when I pump the grease in I would block the back up and put it in 1st gear and let it idle, when the carrier was full the grease would come out the small hole. I put the check bolt in the carrier because you can blow the seals out if pump in to much. You should never pump grease into anything until it comes out and you can see the grease coming out of the seals, if you see that the seals are blowed then just like the grease comes out, dirt and water goes in the same way. I had the bearings out while doing the drilling so I could wash the metal shavings out. The bearings lasted about 4yrs after putting the zerks in, when I did replace the bearings the second time the bearings came out with no trouble at all unlike the first time when I had to beat on them for about an hour. I also put zerk fittings in the front hubs also and at the top clamp on steering stem.
