I have a built 400, 426 with 13-1 JE piston, cam, ported polished head,X-6 Curtis Sparks pipe and FCR carb. My question is is it normal for the ceramic coating to be turning to a lighter color from the heat, I have about 5 hours on the pipe and it started at the head pipes and has worked its way back 6 inches. Its not pretty and shiny anymore. Just dull and rough surfaced and it keeps moving towards the back the more its rode. This motor makes a lot of heat but youd think someone could make a pipe that would stay coated pretty and shiny. Does this happen to all of the ceramic coated pipes? Anyone else noticed this?
By the way it is one bad pipe! Makes big power and torque for big bores and high compression. X4 is awesome on a stock or slightly modiifed bike too.

Check your jetting. The Sparks pipes are about the best that you can get.
