450 ES Brake trouble
#1
I have had a strange thing happen. Last friday 2 local guys who are best friends brought me their 450's that were only 3 months old, They had bought them both at the same time from the same dealer. Niether had any front brakes, They had lost the brakes about a month earlier, They brought them to me because they did not want to "tie them up" for a week at the dealership. Well I checked them they both had no wear on the Shoes and were adjusted fully as one might expect from new machines but niether had a pull in the front brake handle it would just bottom against the handlebar, I tried bleeding them ,got tons of air out of the brake lines and got a little brakes this way but as soon as I thought I had it figured out they would go flat again. I tried over and over to bleed them, I looked for a leak ,no leaks could be found. I finally just told them they would have to take them back and let the warranty cover it, That I was out of Ideas but I thought that they had bad master cylinders, possibly the plant may have gotten a few that had problems on them , I don't know. They are supposed to let me know what it turns out to be. I guess what I really want to know is if anyone else on here has had a similar problem with the front brakes on their 450. These 2 machines being bought at the same time have really got me suspicious. I work on a lot of Honda 4-wheelers and the fronts just don't give much problems other than normal wear. This ones got me stumped.
